Lianna Genovese is the CEO and Founder of ImaginAble Solutions, a women-led social impact company in Canada specializing in creating assistive technology to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities.
At the age of 19, Lianna invented Guided Hands®, an international award-winning assistive device that enables children and adults with hand disabilities to write, paint, draw, and access technology. The device promotes self-expression, independence, and the development of sensory motor skills.
Lianna holds a Bachelor of Biomedical and Mechanical Engineering from McMaster University, where she created the first prototype of Guided Hands® for her friend Elissa, who has Cerebral Palsy. Now, at 24, Lianna has sold the product to hospitals, rehabilitation centers, schools, and families in 22 countries. She has received over 40 international design awards, including the James Dyson Engineering Award.
Lianna is an international public speaker raising awareness about disability innovation and accessibility. Lianna was named Forbes' 30 Under 30 and she will be receiving the Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Award in Kentucky this November. Lianna and her team at ImaginAble continue to make a significant impact on the lives of people with disabilities worldwide, making education, self-expression, and rehabilitation accessible for all through Guided Hands®!
